NBC STAFF URGE NETWORK TO PAY $6M RANSOM FOR SAVANNAH GUTHRIE’S MOM
INSIDERS SAY TOP EXECS TORN — FEAR PAYMENT COULD SET DANGEROUS PRECEDENT
Hello, hello, hello…
Tensions are sky-high inside NBC, darlings — and the conversations are getting heavy.
Sources tell Naughty But Nice that NBC staffers are quietly pressuring leadership to step in and help pay the reported $6 million ransom tied to the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother. Emotions are raw, loyalties are fierce — and no one wants to say the wrong thing.
“People are begging the company to do something,” one insider tells me. “Savannah is family to them.”
Behind closed doors, however, senior executives are said to be deeply conflicted. While there is enormous sympathy for Savannah and her family, there’s also a chilling fear: if NBC pays once, it could happen again — to Savannah or to someone else connected to the network.
“That’s the nightmare scenario,” a source explains. “You don’t want to become a target.”
Multiple high-level discussions are reportedly underway, weighing moral responsibility against legal, ethical, and security risks. “No one wants blood on their hands,” the insider says. “But no one wants to open a door that can’t be closed.”
NBC, sources stress, is not pressuring Savannah in any direction and continues to support her decision to step away from Today. Still, inside the building, staffers are struggling to watch one of their own endure this ordeal.
“This isn’t about ratings or contracts,” another source adds. “It’s about fear, compassion, and the impossible choices no one prepares you for.”
For now, the debate rages on — quietly, urgently, and painfully — as NBC walks a tightrope with no safe landing.

You know…this is getting TONS of undeserved attention when average Americans face terrible crimes every day. I have every sympathy (for now) for the Guthrie family & hope for mom’s safe return. But I’ll bet Savannah’s salary these many years can cover the ransom, should the family decide to pay in the absence of proof of life. I hate NBC but I’m w/ them on this.
Savannah is worth 4-50 million$.
It’s up to the family to pay ransom…or not. I would understand NBC paying ransom for Savannah if she was kidnapped. NBC is providing good security for Savannah and her children. I heard that NBC arranged for the family to stay in a large home within a gated area as the investigation continues.
They are not pressuring Savannah to return and probably are paying her until then.
