After decades of dodging the Met Gala spotlight, Leonardo DiCaprio finally made his covert debut at the 2025 event

“He didn’t care about the theme or the designers — he did it for her,” a source close to the actor says of girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti. “She’s the reason he showed up at all.”

While Leo, 50, famously avoids red carpets that don’t involve Oscars or climate change, insiders say he made a rare exception to support Ceretti’s big night. “It was important to Vittoria. He knew what it meant to her,” the source explains. “So he suited up, went in quietly, and stood by her — literally in the shadows.”

The couple, first linked in 2023, have kept things mostly under wraps, but those close to them say it’s serious. “She’s not just a fling,” the insider adds. “She makes him show up — even at the Met.”

Though he refused to walk the carpet and tried to duck cameras inside, eagle-eyed fans spotted Leo in a black-and-white Vogue video lurking near Ceretti, who stunned on the Met steps.

So will he ever go public with their relationship?
“Don’t hold your breath,” a fashion insider says. “Leo’s allergic to that kind of attention. But if he’s at the Met Gala — even incognito — you know she matters.”
