EXCLUSIVE: TRUMP LEFT FUMING AS ZELENSKY GETS OVATION AT POPE’S FUNERAL
Applause broke out — but it wasn’t for Trump, and he’s not taking it well, insiders say.
Donald Trump showed up expecting reverence — but instead, he got reality.
At the solemn funeral mass for Pope Francis on Saturday, an eruption of applause moments after Trump and Melania entered the Vatican ceremony left some assuming the crowd was cheering for the former President.
But, the massive applause wasn’t for Trump at all. It was for Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, who appeared on the venue’s giant monitors just seconds after Trump’s entrance.
"Trump thought the applause was for him — you could see it in his face," an insider tells #ShuterScoop. "But when he realized it wasn’t, he was livid."
Sources close to the Trump camp say he was "deeply embarrassed" and "furious" after realizing the truth, especially in front of global dignitaries and cameras.
"Trump is used to being the center of attention," one political insider laughs. "He’s not built to handle being second fiddle — especially not to Zelensky."
Adding to the awkwardness, the funeral — meant to be a somber farewell to the beloved 88-year-old Pope — became another unplanned chapter in Trump’s ongoing feud with global perception.
“He showed up ready for a coronation," the source adds. "Instead, he got a cold dose of reality — and it stung."
And he appeared to fall asleep.
So sad.
