EXCLUSIVE: SAVANNAH SAYS ‘GOODBYE’ TO MOM BEFORE HEADING HOME TO NYC
TEARFUL FAREWELL AT NANCY GUTHRIE’S MEMORIAL AS SEARCH HITS 30 DAYS
Hello, hello, hello…
Naughties, sometimes the bravest thing a daughter can do is whisper goodbye — even when her heart is still praying for a miracle.
After 30 agonizing days in Tucson, Savannah Guthrie returned to her mother Nancy’s home — and this time, those close to her say, it felt final.
“She didn’t want it to be a goodbye,” a source close to the family tells me. “But she knows she can’t live in limbo forever.”
My forthcoming novel, It Started With A Whisper, is now available for pre-order
Standing beside her sister Annie and brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni, Savannah approached the growing memorial outside the house where her 84-year-old mother vanished. The signs still read, “Please come home.”
“That sign breaks her every time she sees it,” says the insider. “She still believes. She just doesn’t know what she’s believing for anymore.”
Clutching yellow flowers, the siblings embraced in a long, tearful hug.
“There were no words left,” the source shares. “Just love. Just heartbreak.”
Days earlier, Savannah said what no daughter wants to admit: “She may already be gone.” Fighting tears, she added, “If this is what is to be, then we will accept it, but we need to know where she is. We need her to come home.”
Now she is heading back to New York — back to her children, her husband, and her seat on “Today.”
“She has to return to her life,” says the source softly. “But she’s leaving a piece of her heart in Arizona.”
Cheers,
Rob Shuter
And remember… if you’re going to be naughty, you’ve got to be nice. 💋

Prayers and condolences for Savanna and her family.
This is gutting. I know that to lose a loved one is hard enough, but to lose one in this way will forever change their lives and forever leave scars on their very souls. God go with them. I wish them peace with the memories of their mother they share and now cherish.
