Just 24 hours after a chilling new message claimed to contain video of Savannah Guthrie’s missing mother on what the anonymous sender described as “the day that was probably her last,” concern inside NBC has reached a breaking point.
Behind the scenes, sources tell Naughty But Nice executives are quietly preparing for the possibility that Savannah may need to step away from Today again with little warning as the emotional weight of the investigation becomes increasingly unbearable.
“Everyone is deeply worried about Savannah,” one NBC insider tells Naughty But Nice. “She’s showing incredible strength on camera, but every new twist is another emotional blow. No one expects a daughter to carry this kind of heartbreak while hosting live television every morning.”
I’m told Hoda Kotb has been put on standby and is ready to return to the anchor desk immediately should Savannah decide—or be encouraged—to take time away.
