EXCLUSIVE: SAVANNAH GUTHRIE FAMILY CONSIDERS LEGAL ACTION AGAINST ASHLEIGH BANFIELD
PODCAST CLAIMS SPARK OUTRAGE — POLICE FLATLY DENY REPORT
Hello, hello, hello…
This one is crossing from gossip into courtroom territory, darlings.
Sources tell Naughty But Nice that the family of Savannah Guthrie is actively exploring possible legal action against TV host Ashleigh Banfield following explosive claims made on her podcast.
On Drop Dead Serious, Banfield alleged that investigators had seized and impounded a car belonging to Savannah’s sister, Annie Guthrie, claiming it had a “connection” to a man named Tommaso Cioni.
Banfield further stated that Cioni—who is married to Annie Guthrie—was allegedly being treated as a central figure in the investigation, though she added the caveat that these were “musings and not evidence.”
That caveat didn’t land.
“You can’t float accusations like that and hide behind disclaimers,” one source close to the family says. “This dragged innocent people into a nightmare.”
Even more damaging? Law enforcement says it’s simply not true.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has explicitly denied Banfield’s claims. In a statement issued February 4, 2026, the department said they have not identified a suspect or person of interest and sharply criticized the spread of “unverified accusations,” calling them “irresponsible.”
“That statement changed everything,” an insider explains. “Once police publicly pushed back, the family felt real harm had been done.”
No lawsuit has been filed—yet. But consultations are underway, and tensions are high.
For the Guthrie family, the line has been crossed: speculation became accusation, and pain became public fodder.
Cheers,
Rob Shuter
