EXCLUSIVE: ROSANNE BARR FURIOUS OVER 'CONNERS' FINALE SHOUTOUT: “THEY USED ME — AGAIN!”
Former castmates ‘ungrateful bastards’ after emotional finale references her character
Roseanne Barr is seeing red after The Conners finale invoked her legacy in a tearful graveside farewell… without ever speaking to her.
Sources tell #ShuterScoop the ousted sitcom icon is “absolutely livid” that ABC and her former castmates dared to use her name and character in the final episode — while keeping her locked out of the show she created.
“She’s sick of the hypocrisy,” says a longtime friend of Barr. “They can’t stop talking about her, but they won’t talk to her. It’s insulting.”
The emotional series finale saw Dan (John Goodman), Darlene (Sara Gilbert), Jackie (Laurie Metcalf), and Becky (Lecy Goranson) visiting Roseanne Conner’s grave, even placing a Jewish mourning stone on her headstone — a symbolic nod many viewers interpreted as a quiet tribute to the real Roseanne Barr. But the gesture didn’t land for the woman herself.
“They wouldn’t have a show without Roseanne, and they know it,” the source fumes. “There would be no Conners without her name, her creation, her character. But they threw her out — then had the audacity to eulogize her like they’ve always loved her.”
Behind the scenes, Barr was never consulted — and certainly wasn’t invited to return.
“To include her this way, after cutting her out of the family both on screen and in real life? It’s a slap in the face,” says the insider. “They are all ungrateful bastards.”
According to Roseanne’s camp, not a single former co-star has reached out — no text, no call, not even a thank-you.
“Just another episode of The Conners using Roseanne Barr’s legacy for ratings while pretending she doesn’t exist.”
One Hollywood observer summed it up best: “They gave her a tombstone. What Roseanne wanted was a phone call.”
Now that’s the real finale.
