EXCLUSIVE: ROBIN ROBERTS, GEORGE & MICHAEL STRAHAN DEMAND BIG PAYDAY TO SAVE STRUGGLING ‘GMA3’
GMA HOSTS REVOLT!
Behind the polished smiles of morning TV, a storm is brewing.
Sources tell Rob Shuter’s Substack that Good Morning America anchors Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan are in a tense standoff with ABC executives after being asked to step in and rescue the floundering GMA3.
“They’re not about to tack on another hour without major compensation,” a top network insider reveals. “The message was clear: pay up or find someone else.”
With GMA3 ratings sinking fast, execs hoped their marquee names would swoop in and revive the hour. But the trio isn’t interested in doing more for the same paycheck.
“They know their worth and won’t be taken advantage of,” a source close to the situation tells Rob Shuter. “They’ve carried this network for years.”
The network’s gamble—that loyalty would override logic—has backfired.
“Robin, George, and Michael see what’s going on,” the insider explains. “Shows are being canceled, people are losing jobs, and now they’re being asked to work overtime—for free? Not happening.”
Executives are now scrambling behind the scenes, trying to salvage the hour without sparking a full-blown talent mutiny.
“Unless they’re offered big money, don’t expect them to budge,” another well-placed source adds.
