EXCLUSIVE: REAL HOUSEWIVES REJECTED FROM MET GALA — AGAIN!
“They tried to buy their way in — and Anna Wintour wasn’t having it," fashion insiders reveal.
It’s official: The Real Housewives are still not welcome at fashion’s biggest night.
Sources tell #ShuterScoop that several Housewives from various franchises tried — and failed — to crash this year’s Met Gala, pulling every trick in the book to score a coveted invite to Anna Wintour’s ultra-exclusive event.
“Every seat at the Met Gala is bought and paid for by a designer or brand,” a fashion insider tells #ShuterScoop. “There’s no such thing as a free invite — if a designer doesn’t want you at their table, you’re not getting through the door.”
And when it comes to the Housewives? The fashion world has made its feelings crystal clear.
“They’re considered too ‘lowbrow’ for the Met,” the source sniffs. “Designers are terrified of upsetting Anna by inviting them. Nobody wants to risk getting blacklisted for seating a reality star.”
Even worse? Some Housewives offered to pay for their own tickets — only to be flat-out rejected.
“A few of the ladies tried to buy their way in privately, thinking money could open the doors,” another insider spills. “They were all turned down. No one’s crossing Anna — especially not for a quick headline.”
In the past, Wintour has made no secret of her disdain for certain reality TV stars, blacklisting anyone she feels would “cheapen” the event’s image.
“She’s fiercely protective of the Met’s reputation,” the source adds.
For now, the ladies of Bravo will have to settle for watching the Met Gala from their couches — just like everyone else.
“Money can’t buy you class," one insider laughs. "And it sure as hell can’t buy you a seat at Anna’s table."
