When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle meet with King Charles during their upcoming trip to Britain, don’t expect the monarch to be alone.
Royal insiders tell Naughty But Nice that Queen Camilla has made it clear she wants to be present for any private meeting between the King and the Sussexes, fearing Charles’ desire to reconcile with his youngest son could lead him to make promises he’ll later regret.
“Camilla isn’t taking any chances,” a palace source tells Naughty But Nice. “She knows Charles has a soft spot for Harry, especially when it comes to his grandchildren. She wants to hear every word.”
The King’s hope of spending time with Archie and Lilibet has fueled speculation that relations are beginning to thaw. But insiders say Camilla remains deeply cautious.
“Charles leads with his heart,” says another source. “Camilla worries that, left alone with Harry, he’ll give away the family store in the name of peace.”
Sources insist Camilla isn’t trying to block a reconciliation. Instead, they say she wants to make sure any agreement protects both the monarchy and the King himself.
