EXCLUSIVE: PANIC AT THE PALACE — EMERGENCY MEETING AS PRINCE ANDREW’S ACCUSER DIES BY SUICIDE
"They’re terrified of what happens next," insiders spill to #ShuterScoop.
The royal family is in full-blown crisis mode after news broke that Virginia Giuffre, the woman who accused Prince Andrew of sexual assault, has tragically died by suicide at just 41 years old.
Sources tell #ShuterScoop that an emergency meeting was immediately called inside Buckingham Palace Friday night, which included King Charles, Prince William, top advisors, lawyers, and PR chiefs scrambling behind closed doors — but Prince Andrew was pointedly excluded from the conversation.
"They didn’t want Andrew anywhere near it," one insider says bluntly. "He’s seen as toxic. They know involving him would make everything worse."
Behind palace walls, a fierce debate has reportedly broken out:
King Charles wants to say and do nothing, preferring to quietly monitor the situation and avoid inflaming the story — a classic royal "wait and see" approach.
Prince William, however, is pushing for a more aggressive response — proposing the palace issue a statement expressing condolences and even offering to cover Giuffre’s funeral expenses as a gesture of goodwill.
"William thinks they need to show humanity," says a palace source. "Charles just wants it to disappear."
Meanwhile, the King has also privately told aides he wants Prince Andrew to return the $10 million payout he made to Giuffre in 2022 to settle her lawsuit — a payout that now threatens to ignite fresh public outrage.
"They feel completely exposed," the insider adds. "The fear is this could trigger a massive backlash not just against Andrew, but against the monarchy itself."
Giuffre famously sued Prince Andrew in 2021, claiming he sexually assaulted her when she was just 17 while traveling with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Andrew denied all wrongdoing but ultimately paid millions to settle — without admitting guilt.
Her death comes just weeks after she heartbreakingly revealed she believed she only had "days to live" following injuries from a devastating bus crash.
In a gut-wrenching statement, her family remembered Virginia as "a fierce warrior" against sexual abuse, but admitted "the toll became too heavy for her to bear."
