Sources tell Naughty But Nice that the network’s Winter Olympics plans are unraveling fast as Savannah Guthrie faces every daughter’s nightmare: her beloved mother, Nancy Guthrie, is missing — and the case is now being investigated as a crime.

“There is no universe where Savannah gets on a plane to Italy right now,” one senior NBC source tells me bluntly. “She’s devastated. Family comes first. Period.”

Savannah was scheduled to co-host the Opening Ceremony in Milan alongside Terry Gannon, a marquee role NBC had been promoting for months. Internally? All plans are now on ice.

“No one knows what to do,” another insider admits. “This has never happened at this level, this close to the Games.”

Publicly, executives are expressing hope. Privately, they’re contingency-planning at speed.

“Everyone is praying Nancy is found,” a source says softly. “But we’d be irresponsible not to prepare for the worst.”

“That uncertainty is paralyzing,” one NBC veteran explains. “You can’t replace Savannah emotionally or editorially. She is the face of this broadcast.”

Despite the chaos, insiders stress that Savannah has unwavering support from NBC News.

“There’s zero pressure on her,” a colleague says. “The message is simple: take care of your mom. We’ll handle the rest.”

Still, the reality is stark: Savannah is not going to Italy while her mother’s fate is unknown.

And the Olympics? They’ll go on — but not as planned.

Because sometimes, even the biggest show on earth has to stop and wait.
