EXCLUSIVE: MET GALA ON HIGH ALERT: ANNA WINTOUR DEPLOYS SECURITY DETAIL OVER KANYE WEST CRASH FEARS
Vogue’s queen bee has a contingency plan if Ye dares show up uninvited — especially with ex Kim Kardashian on the guest list
The 2025 Met Gala is shaping up to be as much about fashion as it is about potential fireworks — and not the kind that sparkle.
Sources tell #ShuterScoop that Anna Wintour has beefed up security at the Metropolitan Museum of Art amid growing fears that Kanye West, who is not on the guest list, may attempt to crash the event.
“Anna is not messing around,” a Met insider said. “There’s a full protocol in place if Kanye is spotted anywhere near the carpet.”
The concern stems from Ye’s recent social media antics, including posting a sketch of a KKK-inspired outfit he claimed he would wear to the Met Gala. The design, featuring a cone-shaped hood and bare chest, sparked immediate backlash and raised red flags for organizers.
“It’s not just about the outfit — it’s about the chaos he brings,” said a fashion security consultant. “After the Grammys stunt, no one is taking chances.”
Adding to the tension, Kim Kardashian — Ye’s ex-wife — is confirmed to attend. The two have had a rocky relationship since their split, and insiders say the possibility of an unplanned encounter is a nightmare scenario.
“Kim is focused on her look and her brand,” said a source close to the reality star. “The last thing she wants is Kanye pulling a stunt and hijacking the night.”
While Kanye’s attendance remains unconfirmed, organizers are leaving nothing to chance. “If he shows up, there’s a plan,” the Met insider added. “Anna has made it clear — no drama on her carpet.”
The Met Gala, co-chaired this year by Anna Wintour, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Pharrell Williams, is set to take place on Monday, May 5, with the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
