Donald Trump may publicly blame politics and world events for missing Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding this weekend — but insiders tell Naughty But Nice the real reason is far more personal: Melania Trump refused to attend.
Sources close to the family say Melania has long kept emotional distance from Trump’s older children and had no interest in spending an entire weekend surrounded by complicated family dynamics.
“Melania did not want to spend a full weekend with Donald’s adult children from previous marriages,” one insider says. “That tension has existed for years, even if nobody says it publicly.”
According to sources, Barron Trump also skipped the wedding and remains largely disconnected from his older half-siblings.
“Barron grew up in a completely different world from Don Jr., Eric, Ivanka, and Tiffany,” another source explains. “There’s emotional distance there, and everyone in the family knows it.”
Insiders say the mood surrounding the wedding darkened even further after Vanessa Trump revealed her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this week.

But sources insist the biggest cloud hanging over the weekend is the assassination threat tied to Ivanka Trump.
“That changed everything instantly,” says one insider. “The second the Ivanka situation surfaced, the wedding stopped feeling like a celebration. The entire family went straight into security mode.”
Sources say protection around Ivanka and the extended Trump family has intensified dramatically.
“Nobody’s thinking about parties anymore,” the insider adds. “The mood now is fear, caution, and lockdown.”

The bigger issue is Melania is worried about Barron's security after the threat to Ivanka. Remember she has one child. One.
Ivanka, Don. Jr. and Eric are all old enough to be Barron's mother or father. He probably prefers the company of people his own age for now.
Lastly after the lapses by the Secret Service in the past year Melania could hardly be blamed for erring on the side of caution.
