EXCLUSIVE: KIM KARDASHIAN BLOCKED FROM BRINGING NORTH WEST TO MET GALA
ANNA WINTOUR REFUSED TO MAKE EXCEPTION
North was ready. The outfit, the glam, the attitude — but Anna Wintour wasn’t having it.
Despite Kim Kardashian’s behind-the-scenes push, 11-year-old North West was officially denied entry to the 2025 Met Gala, #ShuterScoop has learned — and the message from Vogue’s top brass couldn’t have been clearer: rules are rules.
The Met Gala has enforced a mandatory 18+ age restriction since 2018, calling the fashion spectacle “not an appropriate event for people under 18.” But here’s the twist — there is a potential loophole: minors may attend if accompanied by a parent.
Kim thought that clause would apply to her. It didn’t.
“She asked. She begged. She assumed she and North would be the exception,” one well-placed source dishes. “But Anna Wintour gave a firm ‘no.’ Not even Kim Kardashian gets to rewrite the rules.”
North, who turned heads in a cowhide sweat set, neon blue braids, full glam, and crystal-encrusted nails, was fully prepared to storm the steps with her mom. The pair even filmed TikToks from their hotel room and near the Met entrance.
“North was heartbroken, but Kim knew she couldn’t make a scene,” a second insider says. “She’s playing the long game. This just wasn’t the year.”
Prior to the 2018 age restriction, plenty of famous teens attended: Elle Fanning debuted at just 13, Hailee Steinfeld at 14, and Willow Smith was 15 when she joined brother Jaden (17) at the Gala in 2016.
But now? Even the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has to wait her turn.
