EXCLUSIVE: KATY PERRY FACES EMPTY SEATS DISASTER AS US TOUR STRUGGLES TO SELL TICKETS
ENTIRE ARENAS SITTING EMPTY
Katy Perry may have rocked sold-out crowds across Australia — but back home in the U.S., the "Firework" singer is facing a major ticket sales disaster.
Sources tell #ShuterScoop that Perry’s U.S. leg of The Lifetimes Tour is in serious trouble, with multiple venues barely filling a fraction of their seats as her May kickoff looms.
“It’s a total embarrassment,” a music industry insider spills. “Nobody expected Katy to be playing to half-empty arenas in America — but that’s exactly what’s happening.”
In Houston, where Perry launches her U.S. tour on May 7, insiders say more than half the seats at the massive Toyota Center are still unsold.
And it gets worse: in Minneapolis, only about one-third of the 20,000-seat Target Center has been filled — despite tickets starting at just $75.
Over at Austin’s Moody Center on May 20? The vast majority of tickets are still sitting there, untouched.
“She crushed it in Australia, but in the U.S., the interest just isn’t there,” the source adds. “There’s real panic behind the scenes.”
Other May stops — including Minnesota, Oklahoma City, and Denver — also show massive amounts of empty seats, fueling speculation that Perry may soon be forced to slash prices, cancel shows, or face the humiliation of playing to half-empty arenas.
“It's rough," the insider admits. "It’s like the magic ran out — fast.”
The stunning U.S. struggles come after Perry also had to cancel two Mexico dates earlier this month, citing venue issues — though insiders whisper low ticket sales played a role there, too.
Now, with the clock ticking toward opening night, team Perry is scrambling to save face — and sell some seats.
“Right now, Katy’s facing her biggest flop yet," the source says bluntly. "And everyone’s wondering if the Katy Perry era is finally over.”
