Hello, hello, hello…
John Mayer is discovering there’s one downside to Andy Cohen finally finding a serious boyfriend: he doesn’t get Andy all to himself anymore.
Cohen and boyfriend Kevin Sobieski recently made their red carpet debut at Mayer’s SiriusXM concert in New York, and sources tell Naughty But Nice the appearance confirmed what John has slowly been realizing — Kevin isn’t going anywhere.
“John jokes that Kevin stole his Andy, but there’s definitely some truth behind it,” a source tells Naughty But Nice. “For years, John could call Andy for dinner, drinks, a vacation, whatever — and Andy was available. Now John has to share him.”
Mayer and Cohen’s famously close friendship has sparked endless speculation about whether their bond was ever more than platonic. Friends insist it wasn’t.
But that doesn’t mean Mayer isn’t jealous.
“It’s not romantic jealousy — it’s territorial,” says the insider. “John was used to being one of the most important men in Andy’s life. Suddenly, there’s somebody Andy actually goes home to.”
Sources say Sobieski has also changed Cohen.
“Andy used to be spontaneous, naughty and completely unfiltered,” says the source. “Now he’s calmer and more settled. John is meeting ‘boyfriend Andy,’ and that’s an adjustment.”
My new novel, Queen Elizabeth III, is available for pre-order right now
Still, insiders insist Mayer genuinely likes Sobieski.
“John likes Kevin because Andy loves him,” adds the source. “But he misses having Andy whenever he wanted him.”
Mayer suddenly has competition.
“John knows Andy’s happy,” says the insider. “He just wishes happiness didn’t come with a plus-one.”

And remember… if you’re going to be naughty, you’ve got to be nice. 💋

He wishes happiness didn't come with a plus one? What a tool. No wonder Taylor Swift touched him in a song.
