EXCLUSIVE: JEFF BEZOS IS HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS ABOUT ATTENDING THE MET GALA
Hello, hello, hello…
Jeff Bezos is having second thoughts about fashion’s biggest night.
Sources tell Naughty But Nice that Bezos is actively reconsidering whether to attend Monday’s Met Gala after becoming the lightning rod for the backlash now swirling around this year’s event.
Lauren Sánchez, however, is still going — and insiders say nothing will keep her away.
“Lauren is going. Full stop. You could have protesters hanging from the ceiling and she’d still step out of that car smiling,” one insider tells me.
“This is not just another party for her — this is the night she’s spent years dressing for, networking for, and socially climbing toward. She did not marry Jeff Bezos to miss the Met Gala.”
Jeff, however, has become a far riskier accessory.
After he and Lauren reportedly poured at least $15 million into sponsoring the gala, Bezos is now the walking symbol of everything critics say the Met has become: billionaire vanity, transactional access, and obscene wealth dressed up as culture.
My novel, It Started With A Whisper, is available now
Protest posters are already plastered across Manhattan. Demonstrators are organizing outside the museum. And insiders say Jeff’s presence now threatens to overshadow the entire night.
“Jeff was supposed to be the bankroll, not the headline,” a source says.
“Anna wanted his money. What she did not want was Jeff Bezos becoming the villain of the night before the first flashbulb even pops.”
Security is now the bigger concern.
“Jeff is a target — politically, socially, and physically. At this point, the smartest move may be for Lauren to pose alone and for Jeff to disappear.”
Cheers,

And remember… if you’re going to be naughty, you’ve got to be nice. 💋

Not a big fan of Jeff Bezos but demonizing him because he agreed to underwrite the Met Gala is ridiculous. Considering how ghetto the gala has become before Bezos was on the scene bears some consideration. Cardi B, Teyana Taylor, Emily Rideajetski and Kim Kardashian have not helped the Gala's image. But somehow Tim Gunn is banned when he is one of the classiest people with actual knowledge of fashion and art?
Wasn’t Jeff Bezos at the State Dinner for the King. I am guessing he brought his wife Lauren Sanchez.
