Not all step parents or step kids get along. No biggie really. I don’t care for my mom’s husband at all. But I’m cordial and polite for my moms sake. No family is immune from drama.

Now it’s Trump 2.0 and Ivanka is nowhere to be seen at the White House.

I doubt they ever truly liked each other.
It may be also unsettling for Ivanka that her stepmother is 11 years older than her.

I was 15 years older than my stepdaughter. In our case, it gave us a bond because we were so similar generationally.
It could easily go the other way. I think the mother has a lot to do with it, too. Amanda’s mom & I got along well (unusual)
