Hello, hello, hello…
I worked for the British Royal Family as Princess Michael of Kent’s U.S. publicist, and learned something outsiders misunderstand: royal PR is often about knowing when not to react.
That is exactly how the Palace will handle Harry and Meghan when they return to Britain.
The Palace isn’t particularly worried about them anymore. The Sussexes generate enormous attention, but attention isn’t power. They can dominate headlines without having any control over the monarchy.
In fact, I suspect the Palace prefers them in Britain. Distance creates intrigue. Every visit becomes an event, every photograph a potential reconciliation.
Proximity makes them ordinary.
Harry and Meghan have said they are not returning as working royals. Charles can therefore welcome his son privately and spend time with Archie and Lilibet without giving the Sussexes an official role.
Family is one thing. The Firm is another.
Initially, every sighting will generate headlines. But the Palace understands what happens when you stop feeding a story: eventually it shrinks.
Charles will work. William and Catherine will work. Anne will work. The monarchy will simply continue.
That is the ultimate royal ice-out: not hostility or punishment, but indifference.
Harry and Meghan can return to Britain. They can rebuild family relationships and dominate headlines.
But they cannot walk back into the working monarchy.
The Palace won’t try to silence them.
It will simply stop listening.
My new novel, Queen Elizabeth III, is available for pre-order right now

The Royal Ice out....just my opinion...sounds good but will not work. Meghan and Harry are not the run of the mill problem.Their distracting behavior and need for media attention will derail the royal carriage with every media frenzy. King Charles should know this and ignoring the problem use to work in the past and when Meghan and Harry were in California, but their circus has gone way past that and just wait for all of the tricks and illusions they will bring to the Big Top to entertain everyone.
