EXCLUSIVE: HUGH JACKMAN IS HEAD OVER HEELS FOR SUTTON FOSTER — AND FRIENDS THINK A PROPOSAL IS COMING
MY SOURCES SWEAR THE CHEMISTRY STARTED BACKSTAGE
Let me tell you exactly what I’ve been hearing — because the whispers coming my way? They’re loud.
According to my own reporting and people who’ve been directly in the orbit of this situation, Hugh Jackman is more emotionally open, more lit-up, and more lovestruck than his friends have seen in years. And yes — the woman everyone is talking about is Broadway powerhouse Sutton Foster.
From what multiple sources have told me, the connection between them sparked during The Music Man. And let me be clear: I’m told Hugh was the one doing the pursuing, not the other way around. At the time, both were married, and the insiders I’ve spoken with say Sutton was extremely cautious about any kind of blurring lines.
“She wasn’t going to blow up her life for a Hollywood star she wasn’t sure she could trust yet,” one person with knowledge of the dynamic told me. “He was the one pushing the connection.”
The way people who were there describe it to me? Hugh was giddy. Nervous. Acting younger. Acting smitten. One Broadway insider put it to me like this:
“He acted like a teenage boy around her.”
People close to Hugh have told me his marriage to Deborra-Lee Furness had been emotionally done for years before the public separation — “more like a manager or maternal presence,” as one source familiar with the family dynamic explained to me. “There wasn’t a romantic marriage left to protect.”
Over time, the people I’ve spoken to say Hugh’s persistence and emotional openness broke through Sutton’s hesitation. And according to friends who know them now? It’s serious. Very serious.
“They can’t keep their hands off each other,” one friend told me. “He has never been this happy.”
Everyone in their inner circles insists this is not casual, not a fling, not a rebound.
My sources are already whispering that an engagement is expected sooner rather than later.
And the people who know Hugh best keep telling me the same thing: for the first time in years — maybe decades — he looks like a man living the life he wants, not the life he was managing.
Cheers

I wish more would report that Hugh was the pursuer. If you were there, you knew it was all him going after her. I don't like Sutton at all but she is getting the sole backlash for folding in on Hugh's relentless pursuit. Hugh is not a saint but you can't dare say that!
