Meghan Markle may be celebrating her first-ever Emmy nomination, but insiders tell Naughty But Nice much of Hollywood is rolling its eyes.
Her Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lifestyle Program—even though Netflix has already decided not to renew it for a third season. For critics, the disconnect has reignited a familiar complaint: the Emmys care more about headlines than quality.
“The Emmys have been accused of chasing buzz instead of excellence for years,” one television insider tells Naughty But Nice. “This nomination won’t silence those critics—it hands them fresh ammunition.”
Sources say Meghan’s worldwide fame may have carried more weight than the show’s reception.
“Award shows are fighting for attention,” another insider says. “Putting Meghan Markle on the red carpet guarantees global coverage. That’s a bigger win for the Emmys than recognizing a series that never became a cultural phenomenon.”
The nomination has also raised eyebrows because Netflix chose to end the series after just two seasons.
“If this was truly Emmy-caliber television, why wasn’t Netflix doing everything possible to keep it alive?” one veteran producer asks. “That’s the question everyone in town is asking.”

Rob.....this is a blatant move that the Emmy's are a joke and not credible. I cannot even imagine how this nomination for Meghan came about. Will never watch them again...not sure when I last watched them. Netflix must be having a good ole laugh that someone is on the take at the Emmy's. What exactly hooked them...the wickless candles or the pretzels in a bag. This is what makes Hollywood's reputation tank......is this type of award giving nomination nonsense!!!
