Hayden Panettiere’s grieving mother wants Brian Hickerson nowhere near her daughter’s funeral.
Sources tell Naughty But Nice that Lesley Vogel is pushing to exclude Hayden’s on-again, off-again boyfriend from the actress’s final farewell, setting up a painful battle over who gets to mourn her.
“Lesley is adamant Brian will not be welcome,” a family source tells Naughty But Nice. “She wants this to be about Hayden — not Brian, not their history and certainly not another circus surrounding her daughter.”
Vogel has made her feelings clear. Following Hayden’s death at 36, she said the family had spent years trying to remove Hickerson from Hayden’s life, describing him as a “toxic” influence.
Hickerson and his brother were present when Panettiere went into cardiac arrest in South Carolina on Aug. 16. Authorities said their preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play. Her official cause of death remains under investigation

The situation is complicated by Hayden’s repeated reconciliations with Hickerson. During her recent book tour, private security had instructions to keep him away.
“Her family couldn’t control whom Hayden allowed into her life,” the source says. “But they can control who is invited to say goodbye. Her mother sees this as one final chance to protect her daughter.”
Hickerson has not been implicated in Panettiere’s death.
“Lesley wanted Brian out of Hayden’s life for years,” adds the insider. “She absolutely does not want him standing beside the family when they bury her.”
