Prince Harry and Meghan Markle planned to leave California with one final A-list bash — until sources say their celebrity friends were suddenly unavailable.
Insiders tell Naughty But Nice the couple discussed throwing a Montecito farewell party to thank the famous faces who helped them establish their American life, including Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, David Foster and Kris Jenner.
Then came the awkward part.
“They started quietly feeling people out, and the response was basically crickets,” a source tells Naughty But Nice. “They imagined this emotional send-off surrounded by the people who welcomed them to America. Instead, everyone was busy. It was embarrassing.”
The claim comes as neighbors say Harry and Meghan departed their $14 million Montecito mansion without fanfare — no big party, no celebrity parade, no glamorous goodbye.
“These weren’t supposed to be Hollywood acquaintances. These were supposed to be real friends,” says the insider. “Tyler gave them extraordinary support when they arrived. Oprah gave them a global platform. Harry and Meghan genuinely believed they had built an American family.”
But sources say those relationships changed as the years passed.
“When there was a royal wedding, a Netflix deal or a big interview, everybody wanted a seat at the table,” says the source. “For the goodbye party, suddenly nobody could find a free night.”

Some Montecito residents have also claimed the Sussexes never fully integrated into the community. In the end, the farewell was quietly scrapped.
“They wanted to leave California surrounded by friends,” says the insider. “Instead, they simply left.”
No Oprah. No Tyler. No Kris.
Not even a goodbye cake.

It's a reminder of how transactional Hollywood really can be, especially if you pull stunts like claiming photos were removed from the Jenner/Kardashian social media because you didn't sign a release that didn't actually exist. Then I would imagine Hollywood gets REALLY transactional.
