Former Prince Andrew is making promises — but inside palace walls, few seem convinced.
Sources tell Naughty But Nice that Andrew has quietly reached out to aides and senior members of King Charles III’s inner circle to reassure them he has no plans to flee the country as scrutiny surrounding his ties to Jeffrey Epstein continues to hang over the monarchy.
But insiders say the messages are notably not going directly to the King himself.
“Andrew has been communicating through the King’s people — not with Charles personally,” one palace insider reveals. “There’s no direct contact there anymore.”
Trust inside the royal family, sources say, has all but collapsed.
“Andrew keeps insisting he has nothing to hide and nowhere to run,” the insider adds. “But after years of scandals, almost nobody is willing to simply take him at his word.”
Andrew has not officially been ordered to surrender his passport. Still, pressure behind the scenes has intensified amid fears he could be viewed as a “flight risk.”
While legally free to travel, insiders say Andrew has largely imposed his own unofficial travel ban.

“Technically, nothing is stopping him from getting on a plane tomorrow,” the source says. “And that’s exactly what worries the palace.”
According to insiders, King Charles has deliberately kept Andrew at a distance, viewing him as a major liability to the monarchy’s reputation.
“This stopped being about family loyalty a long time ago,” another source explains. “For Charles, it’s now about protecting the Crown.”
Despite attempts from other royals, including Prince Edward, to maintain family ties, Charles is standing firm.
“People aren’t listening to Andrew’s promises anymore,” one insider says bluntly. “They’re watching his every move.”
