Chappell Roan is facing fresh backlash — but insiders say the controversy isn’t surprising, pointing to what they describe as a long-standing pattern of dismissive behavior toward fans.

The latest uproar erupted after a young fan was left in tears following an encounter with security, which Roan insists she had nothing to do with. But those familiar with her reputation say this moment fits a much bigger picture.

“This isn’t new,” one insider tells Naughty But Nice. “People have been talking about how she treats fans for a long time.”

According to sources, Roan has developed a reputation behind the scenes for keeping distance — and letting others handle interactions.

“She doesn’t engage unless she has to,” the insider says. “And when she does, it can come off cold.”

That’s where security comes in.

“Security doesn’t act on their own,” the source adds. “They know what she wants — and they enforce it.”

While Roan has apologized for the latest incident, insiders say fans are starting to connect the dots.

“One story is a misunderstanding,” the insider explains. “But when you hear the same thing over and over, it becomes a reputation.”

And that reputation is now catching up with her.

“Fans made her,” the source says. “Now they’re the ones asking if she even likes them.”

And now, the fallout has gone global. The mayor of Rio de Janeiro has publicly banned Roan from performing at the city’s major music events after the incident involving Jude Law’s daughter.

“As long as I’m in charge, she will not perform here,” he said — turning a fan controversy into an international problem.
